Physical copy is just a code in a box?
Went to pre-order from a shop rather than the PS Store because I like having the box on the shelf, and the lad at the till said there's no disc, just a download code. Is that right? Bit gutted if so, I'd have saved the faff and gone digital.

That's what's been widely reported, yes. No disc, a code in the case. I haven't seen Rockstar put it in writing themselves though, so I'd wait for the actual box before getting too annoyed.
Ah well. Keeping it anyway, the cover art will look nice on the shelf. Cheers all.
only upside is you can resell it if you never redeem the code. thats about it
a box with a code in it is so sad lmao. at least you get the pre order bonus either way
